Laura Brownhill’s decision to run her own business followed a visit to a salon to have her teeth whitened. Laura noticed that the salon providing the treatment was also offering a course for people who wanted to start up their own business providing a teeth-whitening service.

Laura went on the training course and received her qualification and was fully trained in providing the service. However, despite being full of enthusiasm and having business experience, Laura realised there were some aspects that she needed help with before she could move forward into self-employment.

Laura said. ‘I didn’t really know who to contact for some advice and so I contacted Business Start Up and following an initial meeting Laura was helped to set up her business with the creation of a business plan, financial projections and legal requirements.

‘Even though I had the initial idea, I still needed help with the legal registration of the business and making sure that the financial projections were in place. Business Start Up’s assistance has been invaluable and I am now really confident that I can make this a success’, said Laura
