Sure Services - Domestic Cleaning

Shelly had worked since leaving school with the majority of her employment history being in Nursery nursing and child care. She held a variety of positions working her way up to room leader of a pre-school. When Shelly had her first child she decided to have a change of career and began working for Sankey Health Care as a carer for people who need care in their home.

Shelly had her second child and reduced her hours to part time so that she was able to spend more time with her children. Whilst working as a carer, Shelly became acutely aware of the lack of cleaners available to people who needed this service. She found that the current cleaning services that were available were either expensive, unreliable or the cleaner was constantly changing which unsettled the customers.

The Prince’s Trust support and grant funding enabled Shelly to put together a business plan covering all aspects of her business, including marketing, advertising and costs. The grant enabled Shelly to purchase stock, equipment and promotional material for her business. She also received support via a business mentor who kept in touch with her to help and advise her with any issues she had.

Shelly’s business, Sure Services- Domestic Cleaning, has continued to grow rapidly that she has now employed two new cleaners on a part-time basis. Her confidence has grown and she now feels positive about the future of her business and its continual growth.
